For this dish you will need:
- 4 dl of basmati rice
- 8 dl of water
- 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of oil
- 2 teaspoons of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Step one: melt the butter in a pot and the one tablespoon of oil.
Step two: put in the cumin seeds in the melted butter and oil. Let it fry for until the seeds start smelling delicious. Careful not to burn them!
Step three: Put in the ucooked basmatirice and stir. Pour in the water and salt and let it cook to a boil for about 15 minutes.
Serve with an Pakistani pot and some chutney. Enjoy!
For this dish you will need:
- 7 cups of jasmine rice
- 10,5 dl of chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- ¼ cup of fine chopped and peeled fresh ginger
- 3 large minced garlic cloves
- 1 bunch of fresh cilantro, chopped
- ¾ teaspoon of salt
Step one: place the rice in a large sieve and rinse under cold running water until it runs clear and drain.
Step two: Put the heat up to medium and heat the oil in a large saucepan. Add the ginger and garlic and stir it for about 30 seconds.
Step three: Add the jasmine rice and stir it for 3 minutes. Then the salt and broth and sprinkle the cilantro over. Bring it to boil.
Step four: reduce to medium-low heat, cover and cook for about 18 minutes, until the rice is nice and tender.
Remove from the heat and let it stand for 10 minutes.
Fluff the rice with a fork; serve it in a bowl with chopsticks.
For this dish you will need:
- 2,5 dl brown rice
- 7,5 dl water
- Salt to taste
Step one: Take a large pot, bring water to a boil over high heat.
Step two: Rinse the rice under cold running water for 30 seconds. Make sure to swirl it around with your hand.
Step three:Add the rice in the hot water and turn the heat to medium and boil without coverage for 30 minutes, stirring the rice occasionally.
Step four: When 30 minutes have passed, pour the rice into a strainer over the sink and let the rice drain.
Step five:Return the rice into the pot, off the heat, and immediately cover the pot with a tight fitting lid and set it aside to steam for 10 minutes.
Step six: Uncover the rice after 10 minutes, fluff the rice with a fork and season with salt to taste.
Serve with a delicious classic tuna salad.
